For All Your Disney Vacation Needs

Autograph Books

Autograph books are a necessity for our trips. It started a few years ago and every year we find a new version, always on Etsy. I'm so excited to share with you this year's autograph books!

Our Disney Home

About a year ago we relocated our entire family from Upstate New York to Virginia. We love where we live and after a year of renting we finally closed on our new-to-us-home.  While we have a long way to go updating it to our tastes, we've started making it "ours" and of course that means Disney touches!!

Go....Live Your Dreams!

As we plan for another trip to Disney, I reflect on WHY we keep returning.  We recently got back from an amazing trip to Walt Disney World this past March! For this particular trip we opted to just take our oldest (which I'll talk about in another blog post).   Kennedy is almost 5 years old and has an incredible imagination...combined with a lot of energy and a spunky personality,  I hear about other families who travel to Disney and once is enough...I was thinking about why some kids love Disney, while others can take it or leave it. I believe, like with a lot of kids, Kennedy loves Disney so  much because she is literally living out her imagination and dreams!

She can be a race car driver...

A Mermaid...

Part of Their World

During our upcoming Mommy/Nana/Kiddo trip to Walt Disney World, we went through our usual process of picking a resort. We started value, since it's just a 3 day trip and we are on a budget.   I let my daughter look through the value resorts as we discussed the "next" trip we would take...someday.  She immediately was drawn to All Star Movies, especially the Toy Story Section. Let's discuss how we ended up booking Art of Animation and WHY!

Packing for Alaska

I've said it time and time again but Alaska was one of my favorite vacations...but it was also the hardest to pack for. I want to shed some light on what you can expect as far as weather and what types of clothing you should bring.

Alaskan cruises occur in the summer which means milder temperatures...but it's Alaska right? Always snowing and cold? Nope! In fact there were a few days it was warmer in Alaska than back home in New York!

Families of 5

A common problem when it comes to accommodations at Walt Disney World, and even on a Disney Cruise, is where can a family of 5 stay without breaking the bank?  Due to Fire Code, many Disney resorts limit the number of occupants to just 4 people. There are a  few exceptions however.

Girls Getaway Weekend Special Event

One of my favorite parts about planning Girls Getaway Weekend is planning ours special event. I love seeing all the way Disney can make our event even more spectacular than what we have already planned.    This year was no different!!

Port Orleans Riverside Royal Room

During our first Nana/Daughter/Mommy trip we contemplated several resorts before deciding on Port Orleans Riverside's Royal Rooms.  I've had been to Coronado Springs twice in the past 6 months and I'm not a fan of Caribbean Beach.  That left Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter and when I saw the prices for the Royal Room I snagged it! During  non-discounted times, the Royal Rooms can run about $30-$40 more than an average room.

Pirates League Review

My daughter LOVES to dress up...dress up and play pretend, just like a lot of other 5 year old little girls.  To this day she talks about that time we took her to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the Magic Kingdom and she was made over into Cinderella.  For our last trip we were traveling with my best friend and her family, which consisted of a little boy and little girl. Pirates League is the perfect destination if you have a prince AND a princess!!

Our First Character Meal

To be honest, hubby and I had never really done Character meals before. It was always just the two of us so if we wanted to meet characters, we just do so in the parks, not for a whole meal. Once we had Kennedy, I was very excited about taking her to one of these meals. She did great meeting Mickey and Pooh back during her first trip November of 2011, when she was just 5 months old, and did great meeting the Easter Bunny so I thought she'd be the perfect age.

Mommy and me...AGAIN or never again?

Remember that time I bravely stupidly took the kids to Disney by myself last year? If not, check out it HERE.... I swore I would never do it again.  Yet I find myself dreaming of Christmas decorations, yummy food and my little monsters princesses meeting their favorite characters.  Did I forget the screaming, crying, and rained out Christmas party? Maybe...but I digress. This year we have a better plan of attack...stay tuned!

The Princesses of EPCOT

Did you know that you can meet lots of different characters throughout all 4 theme parks? While most people rush to the Magic Kingdom or a character meal to meet the Princesses, my favorite place is to head to World Showcase in EPCOT!

What's so great about cruising?

Today I want to talk a bit about why I tend to post so much cruise info! Basically...we are in love! In March of 2012 I finally convinced hubby to take his first Disney cruise. He thought he would HATE being "stuck" on a "boat" with nothing to do...little did he know he was going to fall in love with everything about a Disney Cruise.   Since our cruise in March of 2012 we've been on 3 more with a 4th planned next year...which is also my GOLD Castaway Club sailing!

Best Meals for Kids at Disney

It's no surprise that Disney does a great job when it comes to restaurants. There are endless choices that include various types of cuisine, decor, location, characters...and more! Depending on your family...and your kids, not all options may appeal to everyone! Today let's talk about the options for kids!

These are in no particular order and are a mix of both counter service and table service!

Girls Getaway Weekend Itinerary

Last year when the idea of Girls Getaway Weekend came about, I wasn't entirely sure how it would work. Once we got into the planning I was so excited to go...but would we find a bunch of other women who also wanted to spend the weekend at Walt Disney World without their husbands and kids? Sure enough not only did we find 25 amazing ladies BUT our 2nd annual Girls Getaway Weekend we are are probably going to DOUBLE that! Let's talk a little about what to expect next year!

Three Meals A Day

Hopefully you aren't tired of hearing about the Disney Dining Plan yet, but today's post is only slightly related and I think many of you will find it very helpful!

If you are considering booking the Plus Dining Plan there are a few things to keep in mind:

1) Gratuities are not included and are at your discretion (unless you with a party of 6 or more and 18% gratuity will be automatically included)

2) Two meals and one snack per NIGHT of your vacation are included (plus ONE refillable mug per person). In 2017 you will get TWO snacks per night but no dessert with your Counter Service Meals.

Quick Service Dining Plan Pro's and Con's

Let me start this post off by saying these are merely my opinions and different plans work for different families. Be sure to explore all the plans to see which is a good fit for you! When we were planning our trip we went back and forth between the Quick Service and Plus Dining Plans.

Why I Vacation Without My Kids

It's no secret around here that my kids do not always accompany me on vacation and today I want to share a little more about that.

Disney Dining Plan FAQ

Disney Dining Plans are probably our #1 question we get when planning a Disney vacation. It can be confusing and overwhelming for first time visitor. Let's talk more in detail about how they work!!

Disney Cruise Line FAQ

For many guests, Disney Cruise Line is their first experience with cruising!! We had some first time cruisers compile questions for us so we can share with you!

Hollywood Studios with a Toddler

I'll preface this with saying, we are going to see a lot of changes coming to Hollywood Studios in the next few years so while it may be limited in options for the little ones right now, there is still a lot of fun to be had for the whole family here!

The Magic of Magic Bands

Magic Bands...what are they? How do they work? When do you get them? I get these questions on a daily basis! So let's talk about them!

So what are Magic Bands and who gets them? Well if you are an on-site guest YOU do!! If you are staying off-site they are available for purchase.

From WaltDisneyWorld.com:MagicBands are colorful, waterproof wristbands—resembling a watch or bracelet—that you can quickly and easily touch to a sensor called a touch point.

Cool  right?  You are wondering HOW do you get them right?

Dining on the High Seas

The most two most often asked questions regarding Disney Cruise Line Vacations is how does rotational dining work and what else do I have to pay for?

Mommy and Me Trip Recap (Part 3)

When we left off we were all water logged and the kids were exhausted. I was determined to make our 2nd day a great, and more relaxing day! I surprised the girls with a dress up day for our time at Magic Kingdom.

On the bus ride to Magic Kingdom we met a nice family that were heading in the same direction as us...straight to Anna and Elsa! They weren't sure where they were going so they tagged along. They had a daughter about Kennedy's age and had left their almost 2 year old at home (HINT...FORESHADOWING).

Mommy and Me Trip Recap (Part 2)

Last I left off the kids were asleep and I was waiting on our Magical Express luggage to arrive. Around 11 p.m. it did indeed show up and we slept nice and soundly...until 3 a.m. when my youngest decided she did in fact NOT want to sleep in the pack n' play and would rather sleep on my face instead. Waking up every hour with different requests (Momma...Momma....TV?? TV??). Finally it was time to actually get up and get ready for our first day!

Our plan today was to spend the morning at EPCOT and then the evening at Hollywood Studios. I set the kids up with drinks (that I had grabbed from the food court the night before) and Pop Tarts I had packed in our luggage, and grabbed a quick shower. Soon we were dressed and out the door!

So excited she couldn't sit still!

Mommy and Me Trip Recap (Part 1)

We are back from our first annual, ever Mommy and Me trip! I needed to digest this trip for a few days before writing this post. We had a lot of great moments...and a lot of moments that made me realize why everyone thought I was crazy for bringing them. Let's start at the beginning though! For this trip it was just myself, and my 2 girls. Kennedy is now 4 and a half and Finley just turned 19 months. Our plan was to visit Walt Disney World for 3 nights with 2 full park days. This trip was a TOTAL surprise for Kennedy also!

Arrival We opted to fly and use Disney's Magical Express. I'm usually not a fan of this service but as I was traveling alone with 2 kids I couldn't handle more than just them and their stroller. This option was the best one so we didn't have to deal with car seats. We arrived to the airport, parked and were inside in record time...and fairly painlessly...that's where things started to go wrong.

Mommy and Me 2015 Pre-Trip

Back in 2015 I decided to take my kids, by myself to Walt Disney World for a few days...read more about why we made that decision and our plans!!

Back in 2015....
Last week my husband and I made the decision for me to take the girls on an impromptu Christmas trip to Disney. I've thought long and hard about how I wanted to write this trip up and if I wanted to (or should) explain our thoughts behind this trip. I think it will be a fun trip to recap for those of you traveling with little one's so I'm taking the leap and sharing with you a bit more about the trip today.

50's Prime Time Cafe Review

A restaurant that has always been on my bucket list is 50's Prime Time Cafe. If you know me, you know I love everything nostalgic. If I could dress like Donna Reed every day,  I would. That's why it was so exciting when my best friend Lauren and I made the decision to head to Dapper Day last fall.  It seemed like a perfect time to cross this restaurant off my list!

Traveling to Walt Disney World With A Baby

One of the best things about Walt Disney World is, it was truly built for the whole family! Here are a few tips and hints to make the most of your time (and money) when traveling with a baby!

Three Reasons Not to Buy Park Hoppers

This is a topic that comes up pretty frequently with my clients.  I'll preface this with saying each family is different and no one rule applies when planning your Disney vacation. The information below is based on the trips I've helped plan for my many wonderful clients.

I'll say it...I don't like the park hopper option in 9 out of 10 cases. 95% of my clients do NOT purchase the park hopping option. It's not to say that there aren't times when it can work, or that I have never used it before. Here are the Top 3 Reasons why I recommend to MOST of my clients that they skip park hopping!
