50's Prime Time Cafe Review

A restaurant that has always been on my bucket list is 50's Prime Time Cafe. If you know me, you know I love everything nostalgic. If I could dress like Donna Reed every day,  I would. That's why it was so exciting when my best friend Lauren and I made the decision to head to Dapper Day last fall.  It seemed like a perfect time to cross this restaurant off my list!

We knew it would be busy, since we were most likely not the only Dapper Day attendees with the same idea. We were lucky enough to snag a lunch reservation though!

50's Prime Time Cafe is located in between Hollywood and Vine and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

I fell in love the instant we entered the restaurant.  Once you enter to the left is is the waiting room and the Tune-In Lounge Bar. If you can't snag a reservation, this is still a great place to get out of the heat and grab an adult beverage (or 2).  I just love the look of the whole restaurant...it's like stepping into a time machine!!

We were seated fairly quickly and it was a lot of fun to see so many other people dressed for Dapper Day. It really made the experience so much more authentic!   Be forewarned...this is a FUN restaurant, and if you don't like a little teasing or interaction with the waitress, it might not be a good place for you.  Our server did a great job of incorporating a bit of fun and teasing without going OVERBOARD. We really enjoyed the experience! We even had a view of one of the tv's playing old reruns.

Now for the food!! It was SO delicious!! While I really wanted to try  the fried herb and garlic cheese, I knew I had to have a wedge salad.  When Lauren I previously went to Disney I was pregnant and had such a craving for this.  We never could find one and couldn't get into 50's so it was time to finally dig in!

Cousin Amy's Iceberg Lettuce Wedge - Blue Cheese Dressing, Bacon, and Chives
My entree:
Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast - Slow cooked 'til fork tender, served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, brown gravy, carrots, celery and onions

Lauren's entree:

Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie - A creamy cheese mixture of chicken, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onions, and peas topped with a flaky pastry
My dessert:

Traditional Warm Apple Crisp - A la mode

Lauren's Dessert:

Mom's Favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Layers Cake

Overall we really enjoyed this and I can't wait to head back. The food was delicious, the restaurant was like nothing I've ever experience and the service was awesome (and fun!). I would definitely recommend it!

Lauren all dolled up!
