Top 5 Reasons to Stay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club

While a Deluxe resort is not always in the budget, there are so many great benefits to staying at an EPCOT area resort they should definitely be considered.  Beach Club is a favorite of mine and it's one I often recommend to clients.  Remember with discounts you can often save up to 30% off this amazing resort's regular rates!

1. Location

One of the best parts about staying in any EPCOT area resort is location. Many families like to stay on the monorail line but I prefer to be a bit more centrally located.  Disney's Yacht and Beach Club are just a few minutes walk over to EPCOT, a short boat ride (or long walk) to Hollywood Studios, and just a short bus ride to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Just keep in mind during slower times, these resorts do share buses so you may have a quick stop at Yacht Club before heading to Beach Club.

2. Themeing
While these are two different resorts, they are connected...but with 2 very different themes.  Disney's Beach Club side is brighter, airer and lighter in decor and colors.  As it's themed to the Beach, it's no surprise you'll find subtle touches of the beach and ocean.

The Yacht Club side (which is also home to the Convention Center) is darker woods and deeper colors, emulating being aboard a Yacht.  Both resorts are simply gorgeous and once the room renovations are done at Yacht Club, it would be hard to pick one!

3. Rooms

As of today, Disney's Yacht Club rooms have not recently been renovated so I'd personally stick to the Beach Club side.  These rooms are very spacious 381 sq ft, compared to just 260 sq ft at Disney's Pop Century (Value). Plus as it's a Deluxe resort you also have a balcony to enjoy. Disney's Beach Club is also home to a Disney Vacation Club property and offers villas (Studio, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom).

4. Food
The great thing about Deluxe properties is they offer more than one dining option and Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are no different. On the Yacht Club side you have 4 options:
  • Ale and Compass Lounge (Continental Breakfast and  bar menu later in the day)
  • Crew's Cup Lounge (Bar and Lounge serving appetizers and dining plan accepted)
  • Captain's Grille (Table Service)
  • Yachstmasn Steakhouse (Signature dining)
Disney's Beach Club offers 5 different options:

  • Martha's Vineyard (offering drinks and appetizers-no dining plan accepted)
  • Cape May Cafe (Breakfast Character buffet, dinner Seafood buffet)
  • Hurricane Hanna's (Sandwiches, Burgers, Drinks)
  • Beach Club Marketplace (Food court type quick service food)
  • Beaches and Cream Soda Shop (Burgers, Sandwichesm, Ice Cream)

You'll never be hungry and you are welcome to visit ANY of the 9 locations in both resorts. I will say that I slightly prefer the Beach Club side over the Yacht Club due to the Beach Club Marketplace. We often found ourselves staying on the bus to get off at Beach Club, and then walking back, to fill our mugs or grab a snack.

5. Pool

Hands down I think this is the BEST resort on property. The two resorts share one large pool...and I do mean LARGE. Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of sand and splashtastic fun...yes I said SAND!! Stormalong Bay is a sand bottom pool! Not only that but there are several zero entry points with sand just like a beach!

This 3 acre mini water park also has a lazy river and a 230 foot Water Slide! With daily family activities, and all this pool to explore, it could be a vacation all by itself!

Overall this is definitely a top pick of mine. I personally love Disney's Boardwalk but with the various dining options and pool, this is a great you get a great view of the Boardwalk!
